We took over and extended the evaluation software for a US optics startup’s high-speed variable-focus lens, used in machine vision and metrology.
The software integrates IDS industrial cameras with live capture and works with focal stacks captured through the depth of a component. From each stack it reconstructs the component’s 3D surface, turning a series of 2D images into height data.
Alongside this, it provides a set of image processing tools for working with live and captured images: edge enhancement, object and shape detection, dimensional measurement calibrated against a reference object, barcode and QR code reading, and 2D model matching, which locates a reference object regardless of position, rotation or scale and reports a match score.
